Choose by protection type

Four ranges, split by the waveform the device is tested for. The type is set by where the device sits, not by the size of the board.

Type 1
Installed at the service entrance where an external lightning protection system is present. Rated for partial lightning current at the 10/350 µs waveform.

7 AC models · Iimp ratedView →

Type 1+2
Combined duty for main distribution boards. One device covers both the 10/350 and 8/20 waveforms, so no separate Type 1 sits upstream.

7 AC · 9 DC modelsView →

Type 2
For sub-distribution boards and equipment fed from an already protected main board. 8/20 µs duty, from 10 kA up to 160 kA maximum discharge current.

Signal & POE
Control lines, data lines and PoE feeds. Gigabit RJ45, two-in-one and three-in-one formats, all on DIN rail.

Which type goes where

The type is set by where the device sits in the lightning protection zone concept, not by the size of the load. Each entry below maps an installation point to the type and to the rating that actually decides the selection.

Service entrance, building has an external LPS
Type 1
Iimp at 10/350 µs, set by the lightning protection level of the structure
Service entrance, no external LPS
Type 2
In and Imax at 8/20 µs, checked against the prospective fault current
Main distribution board
Type 1+2
Both waveforms in one device; saves a DIN-rail position upstream
Sub-distribution board
Type 2
In matched to the exposure; Imax to the surge current expected at that level
Terminal equipment, sensitive load
Type 2 or Type 3
Up against the impulse withstand of the equipment (overvoltage category)
PV DC side, before the inverter
DC Type 1+2 / Type 2
Ucpv against array open-circuit voltage at the lowest expected temperature
Control, signal and RJ45
Signal SPD
Interface format and transmission rate, not surge current alone

Or start from the installation

Most buyers arrive knowing the panel, not the type. Start here and the range narrows in one step.

Main incoming panel
Protection at the point where the supply enters the building.
Type 1 / 1+2 →
Sub-distribution board
Protection one level down, at the board that feeds the final circuits.
Type 2 →
Solar DC side
Between the array and the inverter, ahead of the DC isolator.
DC Type 1+2 →
Control cabinet
24 V, 4–20 mA and RS-485 lines entering a PLC or control panel.
Signal →
Network and PoE
Gigabit Ethernet and PoE runs between buildings or to outdoor units.

Not sure which one applies? Describe the panel and the supply, and we answer with the model rather than a range.

Certification, per model

Each series is type-tested to IEC/EN 61643-11. Declarations are issued against the exact model number, not the family, so the document you receive matches the device in the panel.

✓CE Declaration of Conformity
✓CB Test Certificate (IECEE scheme)
✓TUV type test certificate
✓RoHS declaration

Certificate numbers and validity dates are sent with the quotation. Tell us the models and the destination market, and we return the matching documents.

Supply terms

Prices are quoted against the model, the voltage class and the pole configuration — the three variables that move cost. Send those three and the quotation comes back with a datasheet attached.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Six points that decide whether a model works in your board. If yours is not here, ask — we answer with the model rather than a range.

Can I use a Type 2 SPD where a Type 1 is required?+
No. Type 1 is specified by the 10/350 µs waveform, which a Type 2 device is not tested for. If the service entrance needs Type 1 protection and only one DIN-rail position is available, use a Type 1+2 device.
Do I need a backup fuse for the SPD?+
In most installations, yes. The SPD is a parallel branch and needs a short-circuit protective device with a rating the manufacturer specifies. That rating differs by model and by the prospective fault current at the installation point — it is listed on each datasheet.
Qual é a diferença entre o In e o Imax?+
In is the discharge current the device survives 20 times and is the figure used for coordination. Imax is a single-shot limit. Two devices with the same Imax can differ substantially in In, so compare In first.
Does one device protect both L-N and N-PE?+
Single-pole devices protect one path. For a TN-S or TT system with protection on both paths, choose the 1+NPE or 3+NPE configuration rather than two separate single-pole units.
How do I know the SPD has reached end of life?+
The status window turns from green to red. Models with a remote signalling contact can report the same state to a monitoring system, which matters where the panel is not inspected regularly.
What are your MOQ and lead times?+
MOQ depends on the model and the packaging configuration; lead time is confirmed against stock at the time of order. Send the model numbers and the quantity and we reply with both.
